Witches and Halloween
Witches have an important role in the celebrations of Halloween. It is no coincidence that October 31 is known as the "Halloween". According to various legends, they gathered in the middle of the equinoxes: 30 April and 31 October. These meetings were led by the Devil himself and those mounted on flying broomsticks, participated in these celebrations. They had power to cast spells and curses, turned into many things and causing all sorts of trouble. It is said, too, that to find a witch was necessary to put the clothes on inside out and walk backwards during Halloween night. Then, at midnight, power would see a witch!
The Black Cat
The black cat is also often associated with witches. Many legends report that they have the power to transform themselves into cats. And because there were people who believed that cats embodied the spirits of the dead, has developed this unfortunate superstition associated with black cat and witch malevolent.
One of the best known is that which states that "if a black cat cross your path, you must return by the same route that percorreste because if you do not, it's bad luck for sure what will happen."
